Tripel

About This Style

Tripels are bright yellow to golden in color. Brewers use three times the amount of malt in the Tripels compared to a standard Trappist Simple. The head is dense and creamy while the aroma and flavor is a complex spicy phenolic, powdery yeast, fruity/estery with a sweet ending. The lighter body comes from the use of Belgian candy syrup in the brewing process.

Food Pairing Notes: Mediterranean Cuisine, Pork, Poultry, Sharp Cheeses (Blue, Cheddar), Pungent Cheeses (Gorgonzola, Limburger)
