Extra Special Bitter

About This Style

Extra Special Bitters (ESBs) are intense yet balanced versions of Bitters. Pours are similar however ESBs tend to be darker in color ranging from dark golds to copper. While not overpowering, both the alcohol and hop characteristics are more aggressive than in traditional Bitters. Malts are fruity and toasty and due to the balance in the brewing, ESBs are not considered bitter.
