A Porter is a dark beer which was first brewed in England. Originally, porters were more like a mixture of pale ales and darker ales that developed a full flavored beer popular with London porters. Eventually porters were produced in a variety of styles and strengths. Many further evolved into stouts, which have a more intense flavor.
