Strong Ales & Barley Wines

A Strong Ale is a term used for a strong English pale ale that has an alcohol content above 5 percent. Barley Wines are yet the next step in the strong ale evolution. Brewers tended to represent barley wines as more nutritional and filling – like that of a wine. Meant more as a sipping beer, barley wines are higher in alcohol content and are typically aged before consumption.
