American Sour

About This Style

The American Sour brew is available in a range of colors and may take on the color of other ingredients. The beer gets its sour flavor directly from the pure cultured forms of souring agents as well as from the influence of the barrel aging. Esters can be moderate to intense and in darker versions, roasted malt, caramel and chocolate aromas are detected.

Food Pairing Notes: Strong Cheeses, Creamy Desserts – Especially with Fruit
