Barrel Aged beer is simply any lager, ale or specialty beer that has been aged in a wooden barrel or has come in contact with wood. The beer picks up the qualities of the wood. Woods used are oak, apple, alder, hickory and others. Ofthen the wood is charred to enhance the flavor.
