Pale lagers are very light golden colored brews produced with a varying amount of bitterness from the hops. Brewers utilized pale ale brewing techniques and applied it to lager processes. This style was adopted by Bavarian, Josef Groll, who then developed the Pilsner. The Pilsner is one of the most popular beers in the world and is the inspiration for more than two-thirds of the world’s beer today.
