Eisbock

About This Style

Eisbock is a strong lager with a color range from a tawny red to near black. Hop bitterness and flavor are overridden by an increased alcohol presence however the taste can be noted as sweet, spicy or fruity. The unique process of concentrating the beer by freezing off a portion of the water results in a heavy thick flavored body.
